Corpsmember Story: Elisa Cano

Foreground is cage of bobcat, background of photo is Corpsmember looking down at shovel blade which she's holding with two hands.

Pomona Crew Leader Elisa Cano uses a shovel to dig up asphalt before loading in to a bobcat at Whitter Narrows Recreation Area in South El Monte, CA.

Elisa Cano is getting the most out of her CCC Pomona Center experience.

The red hat—also known as a crew leader—spent last summer working on trails in Yosemite with the Backcountry Trails Program and last fall on the other side of the planet doing invasive species work in Australia.

With her CCC scholarship money, Elisa plans to return to college and focus on habitat restoration and field research.

Thanks to the CCC, she says she can do just about anything.
