Corpsmember Story: Nohemy Venegas

Backcountry and Camarillo Corpsmember Nohemy Venegas grabs food at camp before a weekend hike in the Shasta Trinity National Forest.

It’s never a bad thing to have multiple career paths to choose from. After more than two years at the CCC Camarillo Center, Nohemy Venegas is an experienced wildland firefighter.

But, she also spent six months in the Backcountry Trails Program living off the grid and working on trails by hand in the Shasta Trinity National Forest and Stanislaus National Forest.

They’re life changing experiences she could only get in the CCC, we couldn’t pick between them either.
