Sloane Viola
Sloane Viola was appointed Senior Deputy Director of the California Conservation Corps in February of 2025 after serving as CCC’s Deputy Director of Legislative and External Affairs since 2024.
In her Senior Deputy Director role, Sloane oversees Deputy Directors of six divisions along with two supporting staff members. Sloane is responsible for project planning, budgetary decisions, and program implementation to achieve the CCC’s mission of enhancing and developing young adults through hard work and education.
Prior to joining the California Conservation Corps, Sloane worked at the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research as Legislative Director and then as the Council Manager for the Integrated Climate Adaptation and Resiliency Program.
She started her policy career as a California Sea Grant Fellow then became a staff scientist in the Lieutenant Governor’s office. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in marine biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Outside of work, Sloane enjoys hiking and backpacking through California’s outdoors along with running, surfing, bouldering, and SCUBA diving.
