About the Office of Communications
The California Conservation Corps Office of Communications provides timely and relevant information that educates the public, potential recruits, media, lawmakers and CCC team members on our policies, projects, and successes. The Office of Communications coordinates media and public outreach; develops and disseminates public information via news releases, media advisories, and website and social media postings; arranges media interviews; and is responsible for the CCC brand and marketing.
Rickey Williams wanted to jump start his wildland firefighting career. When he learned about the CCC, he jumped at the opportunity and it turned into a full-time job with CAL FIRE.
Each year dozens of Corpsmembers earn their high school diplomas through the CCC's partner charter schools. On Tuesday, more than 120 walked across the stage in Sacramento as part of the statewide graduation ceremony.
Corpsmember Karla Gonzalez wants to make a career out of working with plants. At Peck Road Park in L.A. County she got the chance to fine tune her newly found green thumbs.
The Sacramento Energy Center celebrated the grand opening of its new facility in Sacramento's River District. The center serves Northern California and enrolls young men and women from throughout the Sacramento region.
Ulrika Kovaltshuk is passionate about improving the environment. She's helping endangered species along the San Dieguito River by providing them with new plant life to call home.
