Los Padres Center Corpsmember Nataly Landeros bucks a downed tree near Montaña de Oro State Park in San Luis Obispo County.

It can be a shock to the system when first joining the CCC.

Early wake up calls, hiking for miles, and firing up power tools were all new experiences for Nataly Landeros.

At first, Nataly wasn’t sure she belonged at the Los Padres Center.

Now, she’s loving the experience and the more than $7,000 in scholarships she’ll use to earn her wilderness EMT certification.
