When Jaime Granados arrived in the middle of the night at the CCC Fortuna Center he had no idea what he would see outside the next day.

He left the concrete jungle of the Inland Empire for the redwood forests of Humboldt County. Suddenly – new people, new surroundings and new experiences.

But, Jaime wanted to jumpstart his wildland firefighting career, so he dug deep. The motivation to succeed, learn, and grow helped him adjust and reach his goal. He’s now on his way to a spot on a U.S.F.S. hotshot wildland firefighting crew.
