CCC Receives National Award from The Corps Network

CCC Corpsmembers construct and maintain trails in California’s wilderness areas. During the season, they build grit and overcome challenges – including bugs!

Last year, 92 young adults in the California Conservation Corps ventured into remote wilderness to perform some of the most challenging and rewarding work of their lives. Six crews spent five and a half months living off-grid, constructing and maintaining trails for public recreation.

In recognition of the growth and impact Corpsmembers achieved in the Backcountry Trails Program, CCC received The Corps Network’s prestigious 2025 Project of the Year Award. This year, three awardees were chosen from more than 150 corps programs across the United States through a competitive nomination and review process.

“Projects of the Year are noteworthy for their ability to provide both a positive experience for Corpsmembers and meaningful improvements to the community,” The Corps Network stated in a press release. “The Project of the Year Award is presented to Corps that have undertaken especially influential or innovative endeavors.”

CCC was honored in a formal ceremony at The Corps Network’s 40th annual national conference, taking place in Arlington, VA this week.
