At Ocean’s Edge, Corpsmembers Work to Protect Pacific From Burn Scar Toxins
The damage caused by the Palisades Fire along Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu is significant.
With the waters of the Pacific Ocean lapping at fire damaged structures, Corpsmembers joined our Cal OES and DWR counterparts to prevent toxins from causing harm to the ocean and its residents.
Over the course of several days, multiple CCC crews, installed more 6,500 linear feet of silt fencing. And, that number will likely rise.
It’s a new challenge, traversing sandy terrain in protective suits and masks, but one Corpsmembers see as immediately impactful.
Whether from SoCal originally, or NorCal broad and raised, they’re committed to helping Malibu recover.
