We’re often asked what it is Corpsmembers do in the CCC.

For CCC Los Padres Corpsmember Irene Sonido Avila, she’s done everything from improve forest health in our Save Our Sierra program to moving a creek—literally—doing fisheries work.

Irene has also volunteered dozens of hours, served on the center’s Corpsmember Advisory Board, and mentored her fellow Corpsmembers.

It’s not easy to pick just one of our esteemed Corpsmembers for this honor; but talk to Irene for just a few minutes and you can see why she’s our 2020 Corpsmember of the Year!
