Camarillo Fire Crews Travel Hundreds of Miles to Protect Communities

Camarillo wildland firefighting Corpsmembers hike up a steep incline with their hand tools after extinguishing hot spots on the North Complex West Zone fire near Forbestown, CA.

Soot. Heat. Sweat. Repeat. CCC wildland firefighting hand crews have been going non-stop for more than a month now.

It’s hard and often dangerous work, yet they keep showing up to protect homes and property with their chain saws, McLeods, Pulaskis and a whole lot of CCC spirit.

CCC Camarillo crews spent the past month trucking up and down California to help put a lid on six major wildfires.

These Corpsmembers aren’t about to stop. The fire line is where they want to be.
