Making a Difference
Working with East Bay Regional Park District, Corpsmembers have spent decades making a difference in East Bay communities with trail and fuel reduction projects.
When looking through the history books, one of the California Conservation Corps’ oldest project partners continues to be a source of mentorship to young adults and projects benefitting local communities.
The CCC Solano Center works closely with East Bay Regional Park District to help reduce the threat of wildfire by completing fuel reduction projects across the area’s parks.
This summer, they’re working at Lake Chabot Regional Park along the backside of homes in Castro Valley.
Through the years, fuel reduction, habitat restoration, and trail building and maintenance have been tasks we’ve completed for the district.
And, we’ve seen the success of Corpsmembers who’ve left our program to work for the district or move on to other meaningful careers. It’s a partnership, dating back to 1978, that keeps the benefits going.
