Make no mistake. Training for and fighting wildland fires is exhausting work.

After months of prep, CCC Magalia Fire Center Corpsmembers are through their annual readiness drill and ready to take on whatever this fire year has in store.

So, why do Corpsmembers go through hours of cutting practice line, miles of hiking, and all the physical training on top of that?

Everyone has their motivations. For some, it’s a childhood dream to be among those making a positive difference. Some motivations have been forged by wildfire.
