Restoration Work at Colonel Allensworth State Historic Park Underway

Corpsmembers from the Norwalk Energy Center use putty knives to scrape old paint off of Colonel Allen Allensworth’s home at Colonel Allensworth State Historic Park.

In a tiny town in southwest Tulare County, Corpsmembers from across the CCC are helping tell an amazing California story.

Recently, California Natural Resources Secretary Wade Crowfoot visited Colonel Allensworth State Historic Park to see the work firsthand, speak with the local community, and hear from our State Parks partners the future plans for this important bit of California history.

Corpsmembers are doing more than just refurbishing paint and improving access to the park’s historic buildings; they’re actively learning and sharing the history that is Colonel Allensworth and helping bring this state park to even greater prominence.
