CCC Sends Crews To Four Fires

Roll ’em up! Corpsmembers take on the tangled job of hose recovery. Thousands of feet of fire hose is sorted, inspected, and rolled up for either reuse or discard.

CCC crews are on the fire lines and supporting fire camps as the 2017 fire season intensifies.

Within the first three days of the week starting Sunday, June 25, CCC crews worked four different fires across the state — the Creek Fire in Fresno County, the Placerita Fire in Los Angeles County, the Hill Fire in San Luis Obispo County and the Manzanita Fire in Riverside County.

The CCC is assisting Cal Fire with both initial attack on the firelines as well as logistical support at the fire camps.

The Hill Fire alone forced the call out of four CCC crews to the San Luis Obispo area; two crews on the fire lines and two more for camp support.

CCC crews were called in from Camarillo, Los Angeles, Pomona, San Bernardino, San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria and Watsonville locations.
