Coloma's New State Park Trail

Delta Center Corpsmembers use hand tools to shape and slope a new trail at Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park in Coloma, CA.

You can just imagine the sweat. Swinging shovels and rakes hour after hour in the summer heat.

It’s a daily routine for CCC Delta Center Corpsmembers. And, they have hundreds more feet to go as they build this trail from scratch. In total, Corpsmembers will build more than 7,300 feet of a new trail called the Monroe Ridge Connector Trail.

But, when all said and done, the new trail they’re building in Coloma will connect two iconic parks, Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park and El Dorado County’s Henningsen-Lotus Park. Corpsmembers say every ounce of sweat is worth it.
