CCC Gives facelift to trails along scenic coastline

Just in time for summer, the California Conservation Corps is broadening access to some of the most inspirational views along the state’s world-renowned coast.

Just in time for summer, the California Conservation Corps is broadening access to some of the most inspirational views along the state’s world-renowned coast.

Hiking and walking trails along iconic landscapes such as Big Sur, Point Lobos and Torrey Pines are receiving makeovers as well as trails in less-visited spots such as Tomales Bay, Carpinteria State Beach, Mt. Tamalpais and the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Some of the work involves bringing the trails up to ADA standards, to allow greater public access; other trails have been impacted by storm damage.

“Hundreds of corpsmembers have poured their backbones and souls into bringing back these trails so that Californians can continue enjoying the local and international landmarks,” said CCC Director Bruce Saito.
