When large-scale wildfires ignite, everyone does their part to make a difference. For the CCC Magalia Fire Center culinary crews, it’s a chance to put their culinary skills and knowledge to the test. Instead of cooking for 60 to 80 Corpsmembers and staff they’ve spent the last few weeks cooking for three times as many personnel—240-plus—who are helping mop up the Park Fire. And, for the first time in CCC culinary history, the center had to add more cooks to the kitchen from outside the district. Thanks to CCC Tahoe Corpsmembers, the 15-hour days have been a little easier to handle.
