For the millions of Californians lacing up their boots and hitting the trails of our amazing State Parks this summer, a lot of credit can go to the young adults of the California Conservation Corps.
CCC Tahoe Corpsmember embraced the miserable conditions of random rainy springs to clear the way along trails in Bothe-Napa Valley State Park.
Hiding slash from the general public deep in the thickets of the park, all while navigating – well, avoiding or minimizing – poison oak.
The end result is a safer place for all to gather and enjoy. We simply call it trail brushing.
Coordinated Effort
Brushing a trail is not merely cutting random tree limbs for fun. Corpsmembers work to remove overgrown vegetation with a plan and work together to move slash to a safe location. Watch the video to learn more!
