“With all our training, I came in here and I felt ready.”

It’s not fire season, but fire year across California these days. Being ready for the peak wildfire season though, that requires showing what you’re made of so that crews can go anywhere in the state to make a difference.
CCC Magalia Crew 2 recently completed its annual fire readiness exercise. Our CCC fire Corpsmembers demonstrate their knowledge of their tools, packs, safety, and then they’re really put to the test.
A hike with full gear and line cutting top off the drill and are what they’re training for all year round. While we hope these crews don’t have to put this knowledge to the test, they’re ready to help our communities whenever and wherever called upon.
Practice Makes Perfect
