SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Today the California Conservation Corps is excited to announce that Sloane Viola is CCC’s new Senior Deputy Director!  

Viola first joined the California Conservation Corps in February 2024 as a Deputy Director of Legislative and External Affairs. With this promotion, she’s excited to work closely with Director JP Patton to support the CCC. 

“I am thrilled for this opportunity to serve as the CCC’s Senior Deputy Director. The organization’s mission, values, and legacy reflect the transformative power of the work we do, and it’s an honor to be entrusted with carrying on this mission,” Viola said. “I’m deeply grateful for the mentors and colleagues whose support was instrumental in helping me reach this point. I also want to applaud and celebrate the CCC Staff and Corpsmembers whose dedication, hard work, and service benefit California’s ecosystems and communities – my top priority will always be supporting your success.”  

Prior to the CCC, Sloane worked at the Governor’s Office of Land Use and Climate Innovation for five years, first as Legislative Director and then as the Council Manager for the Integrated Climate Adaptation and Resiliency Program. She started her career as a California Sea Grant Fellow then became a Staff Scientist for Lieutenant Governor Newsom. Sloane earned her Bachelor’s degree in Aquatic Biology and Master’s degree in Ecology, Evolution, and Marine Biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
