Exploring the trails and scenery above the American River in Auburn is a great way to spend a day and an amazing place to have a home. But, with that amazing view comes the risk of wildfire.

That’s where CCC Placer Center Corpsmembers come in, to help make a community safer from wildfire.

Corpsmembers spent weeks working the steep and rocky hillsides—rain or shine—assisting our partners with the Placer County Resource Conservation District.

Removing the wildfire fuel required ingenuity, patience, and careful steps. The end result is satisfying to Corpsmembers and the community alike.
