Paradise Erosion Control Project

Corpsmembers work in the pouring rain to place wattles, sandbags, silt socks and drainage inlet treatments in vulnerable locations throughout Paradise.

As storms move into Northern California, 10 CCC crews remain in the Town of Paradise to help in the Camp Fire burn area.

Rain or shine, crews are laying sandbags, wattle and silt socks throughout the area to bolster the town’s defenses to erosion and debris flows. There has already been flooding in the area.

Working with the Department of Water Resources, the measures deployed by CCC crews are designed to slow water flow and reduce the negative impacts the storms can have in the burn areas.
