International Exchange

German firefighters visited CCC and CAL FIRE faciliites and crews as part of an international exchange aimed at improving Germany’s wildland firefighting knowledge.

Often, when wildland firefighters get together, they speak a similar language of terminology and techniques.

With a cohort of volunteer firefighters from Germany visiting the California Conservation Corps and our CAL FIRE partners in May, a whole new language was added to the mix. German.

The visitors from @fire, the name of the volunteer and professional organization in Germany, observed CAL FIRE and CCC operations and then grabbed some hand tools.

WATCH

CCC Magalia Corpsmembers got to share their knowledge and expertise with volunteer firefighters from Germany as part of a CCC Global Corps exchange.

The goal of the visit, to prepare our European friends for potential wildfires, something we know all too well here in California.

It’s a cultural exchange and exchange of information that will benefit the @fire team and our Corpsmembers at CCC Magalia Fire Center.
