We’re the first to admit it, fuel reduction doesn’t sound all that interesting. Unfortunately — as we are all too aware in California — fuel reduction to reduce the threat of wildfire is entirely necessary.
Corpsmembers from the CCC Pomona Corpsmember spent part of the late summer equipped with chain saws, Pulaskis, weed whackers, and more looking to protect the historic King Gillette Ranch and the greater Santa Monica Mountains community.
The impact of the work is not lost on these young adults. They know every patch of brush and every dead tree removed is a critical step to making a big difference.
