Learning On-the-Job, While Protecting California

CCC Pomona corpsmembers cutting fire line with hand tools

Pomona 1 Corpsmembers cut fire line with hand tools on the Peak Fire near Crestline, CA in June 2021.

There’s no doubt about it, wildland firefighting is a challenge.

For our CCC Pomona Corpsmembers it’s one they take on knowing the positive impacts their hard work provides.

They’re helping to protect their community and state. And, they’re benefitting themselves with on-the-job training and firsthand experience.

Our new seasonal Pomona 1 fire crew is already working the fire lines in Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties, putting their newly developed knowledge and skills to the test.
