Corpsmember Story: Mariah Byers

Fresno Corpsmember Mariah Byers works with her crew to install support beams for a boardwalk at San Buenaventura State Beach in Ventura, CA.

Mariah Byers wasn’t just looking to work outdoors, she was looking for an opportunity to build her resume and earn scholarship money.

She found it at the CCC Fresno Center where she can earn more than $8,000 to help pay for school.

Whether it’s working on the beach or up in the Sierra, Mariah has embraced the “miserable conditions” of the CCC.
