Placer Center Corpsmember Sophia Hannegan hauls away ladder fuels as part of a fuel reduction project at Empire Mine State Historic Park in Grass Valley, CA.

Sophia Hannegan wanted life and work experience when she joined the CCC.

She’s certainly found that at the #CCCPlacer Center, where she’s assisting at fire basecamps and tackling fuel reduction projects with her crew.

On top of all that experience, she’s growing as a person and earning scholarship money–up to $9,000–so she can continue her studies.
