Corpsmember Story: Joey Olmeda

Two Corpsmembers, one in foreground and one in the background, work together to carry a large wooden plank.

Monterey Bay Corpsmember Joey Olmeda, right, carries a plank of wood once part of a retaining wall at New Brighton State Beach in Capitola, CA.

Joey Olmeda was tired of dead-end jobs. He wanted to do something meaningful.

The Watsonville native found his way to the CCC Monterey Bay Center where he’s now helping build and restore public trails, learning job skills, and is seeing all kinds of career options in his future.
