Corpsmember Story: Natalia Lara

Tahoe Corpsmember Natalia Lara uses her radio to communicate with her Tahoe Center crew’s CAL FIRE partnered captain.

It’s a career path Natalia Lara never thought about trying until she joined the CCC Tahoe Center.

She enrolled to test her mettle and skills doing work outdoors.

When the chance came to join a fire crew, she took the chance and embraced the roll as the all-important “drag spoon”—that’s the last person on the line making sure it looks perfect.

Natalia’s story is proof, that if you’re not sure you can do it physically or just want to give it a shot; CCC wildland firefighting hand crews are great way to launch your career.
