Corpsmembers prepare at the coastal paradise

The Fortuna Center is located on California’s wild and scenic North Coast, in the heart of redwood country.  Fortuna is a growing community with a rural feel.  In operation since 1992, the center is home to about 100 residential corpsmembers who work on natural resource projects throughout Humboldt and Del Norte counties.

 

Major project sponsors include the U.S. Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the California Department of Fish and Game, California State Parks, Caltrans and more.  The center oversees the award-winning Salmon Restoration Program, improving California’s salmon and steelhead habitat for more than 30 years.
