Overview
Proposition 84, the Safe Drinking Water, Water Quality and Supply, Flood Control, River and Coastal Protection Bond Act of 2006, has allotted forty five million dollars (45,000,000) to be available to the California Conservation Corps (CCC). Of this funding, twenty five million dollars (25,000,000) is available for projects to improve public safety, improve and restore watersheds including regional and community fuel load reduction projects on public lands, and stream and river restoration projects. Not less than 50% of these funds must be in the form of grants for the Local Conservation Corps (LCC). In addition, the sum of twenty million dollars (20,000,000) is available for grants to LCCs for acquisition and development of facilities to support LCC programs, and for local resource conservation activities.
